KALAMAZOO, MI - Western Michigan's multi-talented senior Darius Phillips will be taking his diverse skillset to Cincinnati, after the Bengals drafted the Broncos' standout Saturday in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
The 170th overall pick, Phillips is the second fifth-round cornerback taken by Cincinnati this year, after the Bengals selected Illinois State's Davontae Harris with the 151st pick.
Phillips becomes the second WMU player drafted in 2018, joining offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor, who went in the third round (92nd overall) to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals and Steelers are AFC North foes, so the two former Broncos will square off at least twice in the 2018 season.
