KALAMAZOO, MI - Western Michigan cornerback Darius Phillips shined in Hollywood during Week 1, and his star grew even brighter in his home state during Week 2.
For the second consecutive week, the senior from Dearborn Heights Robichaud earned Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors, after totaling 181 yards in kickoff returns, including a 100-yard dash to the end zone, against Michigan State.
That's now back-to-back weeks in which Phillips has returned a kick 100 yards to paydirt, with his first coming in the season opener against USC.
