RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up the opening round of the 19th annual Rio Verde Invitational on Friday at the Rio Verde Country Club's White Wing Golf Course.
Kennesaw State, coached by WMU golf alum Erin Thorne, leads the tournament after the first 18 holes, combining to shoot a 286 (-2). Xavier sits in second place at 291 (+3), followed by Missouri State in third and Cal Baptist in fourth. The Broncos combined to shoot a 322 (+23) and sit in 16th.
KSU's Bella Kil is the induvial leader after shooting a 66 (-6).
