WMU WR Dee Eskridge named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week

KALAMAZOO, MI - Western Michigan wide receiver Dee Eskridge was a big-play machine in the Broncos' season opener against Syracuse on Friday, and recognition of the junior's career performance extended well beyond Kalamazoo.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound speedster earned MAC West Offensive Player of the Week honors following his eight-catch, 240-yard outing in the 55-42 loss to the Orange.

Eskridge was instrumental in WMU's comeback from a 34-7 halftime deficit, scoring touchdowns on consecutive drives to make it a 34-21 game midway through the third quarter.

His second touchdown catch spanned 84 yards, as the caught perfect pass from quarterback Jon Wassink at the 35-yard line then used his 4.
