Western Michigan women’s soccer was defeated 3-1 at the hands of Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday. The Broncos finished the season with a 13-2-6 overall record.
The Broncos only recorded nine shots and two shots on goal. Blitchok had six shots and both of WMU’s shots on goal. MSU was able to put nine shots on goal. Lauren Boafo had four saves.
WMU found itself in a hole early in the game. MSU was able to score in the 15th minute to go up 1-0 and again in the 17th minute to take a two-point advantage.
