WMU led in kills (48-33), aces (7-3), blocks (7-4), assists (46-31) and digs (49-38). Graduate student Maggie King led the Broncos with 15 kills, with a .270 hitting percentage. Senior Logan Case racked up 42 out of the team’s 46 assists.
The first set was back-and-forth, with WMU finding itself down 12-14. The Broncos then went on a 5-0 run to take the lead led by sophomore Mary Clare Brusek, who had two kills and a block in the stretch. Toledo eventually tied the score 22-22, but WMU reeled off three straight points to win the set.
The second set began similar to the first, with the Broncos holding onto a narrow 10-9 lead.
