Western Michigan volleyball added another recruit for their 2021-2022 class with the addition of middle blocker Maddison Merz from Mercy McAuley high school in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Broncos beat out Texas Tech, who she was originally committed to, in the recruiting battle.
Merz, a 6-1 middle blocker, earned GGCL Second Team All-Conference honors while also being named to the Second Team All-District. Merz is in the record books at Mercy McAuley high school, leading in all time kills (761), total blocks (146), solo blocks (31) and service aces (67).
