Western Michigan took fifth place in the 2019 Indoor MAC Championships at Kent State University on Saturday, finishing with 62 points. While Central Michigan won the overall MAC Championship with 114.50 points, Western Michigan did win Mid-American Conference titles in 800-meter run and 4x400-meter relay.
The event comes on the heels of WMU track and field and cross country head coach Kelly Lycan's suspension. Associate head coach Taryn Sheehan led her team at Kent State after Lycan was placed on paid administrative leave on Feb. 22.
Senior Sarah Anderson earned 10 points for her team, capturing the Broncos first MAC title of the competition.
