KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan women's tennis opened day one of the WMU Super Challenge with a 5-3 record in singles play to go along with a 5-3 record in doubles after one round of singles and two rounds of doubles were played at Sorensen Courts Friday afternoon.

In singles play, senior Barbare Eristavi improved to 10-0 this season with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Gutierrez of Indiana. Senior Meika Ashby moved to 9-1 this season while sophomore Denise Azcui improved to 8-2 with a win as well.
