KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the first home series of the season the Western Michigan baseball team split its Monday doubleheader with in-state foe Eastern Michigan, winning game one 3-1 and falling in game two 5-4 to split the series inside Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field.
On Monday the Broncos scored seven runs on 16 hits and hit a stellar .327 as a team. WMU had five players with a batting average over .300 in the Monday doubleheader, led by junior Connor Charping. Charping hit .667, going 4-for-6 at the plate with
two runs scored and one stolen base.
