Western Michigan softball dropped all three games of its series against Miami this weekend. Both games of Friday’s doubleheader ended with narrow 5-4 losses, while Saturday’s final was 3-1.
Tristen Head, Payton Kelly, and Jordan Smith powered WMU’s offense, combining for four home runs, two coming from Head, and 10 hits throughout the series.
Game 1
Miami jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Kelly answered with a home run. A double by Casey Fazzini’s sent Micaela Booth home in the second, tying the game at 2-2.
The Redhawks pulled ahead with three runs in the fourth, making it 5-2.
