KALAMAZOO, MI - The start of Western Michigan's fall football practices brought smiles to the faces of the 100-plus players and coaches who took the field Thursday, Aug. 3 for the first official day of the 2017 season.
For first-year offensive coordinator Jake Moreland, the start of fall camp brought more than a grin as he ran through the tunnel to the Waldo Stadium field.
Moreland, a former Broncos tight end from 1996-99, joins Tim Lester as WMU alumni on the team's new coaching staff, and just as Lester found his return to fall camp "eerily similar" to his playing days, Moreland was also awash in memories when returned to Waldo.
