Western Michigan men’s soccer was ranked 12th in the nation in the 2024 United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll Tuesday.
The Broncos finished last season with a 17-1-4 record, its highest win total since the 2017 season where it made it to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Similar to the 2017 season the 2023 Broncos also made it to the third round, where it ultimately lost in penalty kicks to number two ranked Notre Dame. It is the second Sweet Sixteen appearance in a row for WMU.
Western earned the high national rank despite losing the programs all-time leading goal scorer in Charlie Sharp, who was drafted to the MLS.
