Western Michigan men’s soccer concluded its season with a 2-1 loss against No. 1 Ohio State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Broncos' final record was 12-3-6.
In the first 30 minutes, the Broncos were not able to gain more than one shot with OSU keeping WMU at a distance. WMU broke through the defense in the 33rd minute with graduate student Owen Smith heading in a goal with an assist from graduate student Greyson Mercer and junior defender Emiel Nieuwhof.
In the 41st minute, OSU tied the game but were unable to score more in the first half even though it outshot WMU 14-4.
