Rodney Coleman-RobinsonWestern Michigan men's basketball enjoyed a nice break after their 84-61 win over Aquinas College on Dec. 18 and are riding a three-game winning streak overall.
But they will have to come out of that break ready for a clash with No. 14 Michigan State in East Lansing on Sunday.
Sunday will be the first time the two programs have met since November of 1998 and before that, November of 1985. Michigan State leads the all-time series over WMU 25-11.
Broncos head coach Steve Hawkins has never faced Tom Izzo's Spartans, but has the utmost respect for their program and knows it will be a challenge.
