It was a tough and rainy game for the Bronco’s true freshman quarterback Reece Goddard to be thrown into; he didn’t expect to start all year until starter Jon Wassink went down against Eastern Michigan University. Goddard’s task was to win a critical game against CMU last Wednesday night, in a game with steady to heavy rainfall for the majority of the game making playing conditions tough.
Goddard completed six passes on 18 attempts with 42 yards and one interception in a 35-28 losing effort, but with failure, growth will come for Goddard. It didn’t help that Goddard was sacked three times and that his receivers dropped multiple passes, including one late in the game on fourth down that would’ve moved the chains.
