Western Michigan hockey defeated Boston 6-2 in the NCAA Frozen Four Championship Saturday. It is the first NCAA Championship win in program history. The Broncos finished its season 34-7-1 which is a program record for wins in a season.
Not only was it the first NCAA Championship win, but it was also the first Frozen Four appearance in program history.
“We believed in ourselves all year long,” head coach Pat Ferschweiler said in a post-game interview with ESPN. “We executed at a high level and carried one another all game long. We played Bronco hockey from start to finish.
