WMU hockey earned a split over the weekend in a big home series against Minnesota-Duluth, coming away victorious on Friday night while dropping Saturday’s contest.
Friday’s game
The No. 19 Broncos continued their winning ways on Friday night at home in the first game of its two-game series against the defending national champions and No. 4 ranked Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
WMU won the contest 5-3 thanks to a surging third period where they scored three goals in just under two minutes.
At first, game one looked to be solely dominated by the Bulldogs as they outplayed the Broncos physically and kept the puck in WMU’s zone.
