WMU hockey picks up two wins against Omaha

Western Michigan picked up a 5-4 overtime win and a 6-1 win versus Omaha in its weekend series. The Broncos are now 22-5-1 overall and 15-2-1 in the NCHC. WMU is now in first place in the NCHC by five points.

Joona Väisänen and Alex bump each tallied two goals in the weekend series to lead the team. Cam Knuble led the team with two assists in the series, each of which occurring in game 2.

Cameron Rowe was in the net for the Broncos Friday. He made 23 saves in the contest. Hampton Slukynsky took over for him in Saturday’s game and only allowed one goal while making 16 saves.
