KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team and head coach Andy Murray have announced the addition of David Killip to the staff as director of player development.

Killip played at Western Michigan for three seasons from 2011-14 and appeared in 47 games and served as an assistant captain his junior year before retiring due to injuries and serving his senior season as a student-assistant coach with the broncos. The Kelowna, British Columbia native graduated from Western Michigan in 2015 and served as the American Development Model director for the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association.
