With a third straight NCAA tournament berth, Western Michigan hockey is at an unprecedented spot in program history. The Broncos have never received three straight bids to the NCAA tournament.
With the new season however, comes new faces. WMU is looking to replace several of its top producing players, with guys such as Sam Colangelo, Dylan Wendt, and Luke Grainger leaving due to eligibility and pro contracts.
“We lose good players every year, and that's the purpose of the program,” Coach Pat Ferschweiler said, “One is to win here, but two is to advance players to the professional ranks, and we do that as well as anyone in the country.
