WMU Hockey gears up for second half of season

The Western Michigan hockey team is about halfway through the 2018-19 season. They started the season ranked No. 19 in the United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) poll. After a slow start to the season going 4-6, they fell out of the rankings.

However, since they suffered a home loss to unranked Nebraska-Omaha on Nov. 10, the Broncos have turned their season around by going 5-0-1 in their last six games. Improving their overall record to 9-6-1. Included in those wins were a road sweep of North Dakota, a shootout win against reigning national champion Minnesota-Duluth that is officially recorded as a tie and a thrilling victory over Minnesota-Duluth that saw senior Colt Conrad score the game-winner with 10 seconds remaining in the third period.
