WMU Hockey freshman Wade Allison drafted in second round by Flyers

BUFFALO -- Incoming Western Michigan hockey freshman Wade Allison has been selected in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft with the 52nd overall pick by the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday morning.

Allison becomes the second-highest draft pick in program history.

Allison, a 6-foot-2 forward, is fresh off being named MVP of the Clark Cup Playoffs after leading the Tri-City Storm to a USHL Playoff Championship. Allison, considered a power forward, was the top scorer in the playoffs, tallying nine goals and seven assist for 16 points in 11 games.
