KALAMAZOO, MI - With nine underclassmen taking the ice for Western Michigan's Friday hockey game against Niagara, the Broncos showed that the future at Lawson Arena is bright.
But those youngsters showed the present is pretty good, too.
Sophomore Ethen Frank scored twice and freshman Rhett Kingston netted his first career goal, as WMU extended its winning streak to three games with a 3-2 victory over Niagara.
Both teams entered the contest playing solid hockey, with the Broncos coming off a two-game sweep over North Dakota, and the Purple Eagles boasting a 5-1-1 record over their last seven.
