LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Western Michigan hockey alum and head coach of of the Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Chris Brooks, coached his team to the Division III NCAA Ice Hockey Championship over the weekend.

Brooks, who is in his fifth season with the pointers, coached his team past No. 1 seeded St. Norberts in a 5-1 victory. UW-Stevens Point had been to the NCAA Championship game each of the past two seasons before getting over the hump against the Green Knights.
Brooks was an excellent player for the Broncos from 1992-96.
