KALAMAZOO, MI - Before coming to Kalamazoo, Western Michigan offensive coordinator Kevin Johns spent 13 years in the Big Ten with Northwestern and Indiana.
On four occasions from 2004 to 2016, the former University of Dayton quarterback helped coach offenses that finished among the NCAA's top 30 teams in yards per game, including Northwestern's No. 4 finish in 2005 and Indiana's No. 9 finish in 2013.
Needless to say, the veteran coach has seen his fair share of high-octane offenses, and this year's group at WMU shares some traits with the Big Ten teams he coached and coached against before arriving in Kalamazoo.
