Western Michigan gymnastics was involved in another back-and-forth contest against Kent State on Sunday afternoon, which was also Senior Day for the Broncos.
Western Michigan came up victorious, defeating Kent State 196.075-195.500 to clinch at least a share of the Mid-American Conference Championship. The win improves the Broncos record to 6-2 in dual meets and 5-1 in conference play, which ties the Bronco record for most conference victories in a season.
"It was perfect," head coach Penny Jernigan said. "This was exactly a dream come true for us. A championship was something we set out as one of our goals this year.
