Western Michigan defeated Ball State 45-42 Saturday. The Broncos open Mid-American Conference play with a win and its record now sits at 2-3.
WMU only trailed for 10 minutes and 29 seconds in the game, but that time period came late in the game. The Broncos led or were tied all the way up until the 9:50 mark in the third quarter.
The Broncos entered the fourth quarter down four, but two touchdowns gave it the lead and all but put the game out of reach.
Despite Jalen Buckley coming back from injury this week, it was again Jaden Nixon who led the team in rushing.
