Western Michigan football defeated Toledo 20-14 on senior day at Waldo Stadium Friday. The Broncos finished 5-7 on the season and placed third in the Mid-American Conference West division. With a 4-4 conference record, the Broncos fell one game short of a trip to the MAC Championship game.
The WMU defense put on an electrifying performance against the one of the MAC's top offenses. It forced four turnovers, had four sacks, seven tackles for loss, six passes defended and 13 quarterback hurries. The team tied a season high with three interceptions and set a new season-high in hurries.
