KALAMAZOO, MI - In college football's current landscape of conference expansion and nine-game league schedules, it's not every year a team like Western Michigan gets to host a Power-5 opponent.
But the Broncos will have that chance in 2018, as Syracuse visits Kalamazoo for Friday's season opener, marking the first time since 2015 that WMU has hosted a team from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12 or SEC.
Twenty-four current players were on the WMU roster when Michigan State traveled to Waldo Stadium in 2015, and fifth-year senior Jamauri Bogan, who rushed for 21 yards on three carries against the Spartans, said bringing in a Power 5 opponent adds a level of excitement to the locker room.
