The Broncos prepare to welcome in-state rival Central Michigan at Waldo Stadium in the Battle for the Cannon Trophy on Saturday. The heated rivalry dates back to 1907 when the two programs played each other for the first time. Western leads the all-time series with a record of 49-38-2, last year the Broncos won 35-10 at CMU.
Today during the pre-game press conference, Bronco head coach Tim Lester touched on some things that happened this past weekend at Syracuse and what his team needs to do to keep the Cannon in Kalamazoo.
“Last Saturday was tough, we had a lot of missed opportunities and a lot of injuries,” Lester said.
