Western Michigan earned its first win over Toledo under Tim Lester on Wednesday in a 41-38 game with one of the most unlikely finishes in a college football game this century.
The Broncos trailed Toledo, 38-28 with 2:54 remaining as Bryant Koback found the end zone for a second time following a controversial first-down call on a fourth-and-11 for the Rockets. WMU then drove the length of the field in 2:09 and Kaleb Eleby scored on a one-yard QB sneak to make it a four-point game, but a missed extra point eliminated the Broncos’ opportunity to get a field goal to tie the game.
