Western Michigan football welcomes back former team captain Chris Chestnut as a part of the coaching staff as its tight ends coach.
Chestnut played for the Broncos in the 2002-2003 seasons, becoming captain in 2003 and having a career 30 catches for 412 yards.
Head coach Tim Lester looks to former players as coaches being a recruiting advantage that sets the Broncos apart from other schools.
“From a recruiting standpoint, our former players are our best asset. I'm thrilled to have another Bronco back in Kalamazoo to help showcase our program and school,” Lester said.
After finishing his college career, Chestnut spent time playing professional football in the Arena Football League for the New York Dragons, Las Vegas Gladiators and Georgia Wildcats, before starting up the college ranks in coaching.
