WMU football gets win number six of the season against Kent State

Western started the game with a 12 play, 92-yard drive, capped by a one-yard quarterback sneak by Reece Goddard, giving Western an early 7-0 lead. On the second play of the next drive, Western’s Robert Spillane intercepted George Bollas and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown, extending Western’s lead to 14-0.

Kent’s next drive ended in a punt, but Western’s Darrius Phillips muffed the punt, and Kent recovered. Justin Rankin took the ball 21 yards for a touchdown on the first play of Kent’s drive, closing the gap to 14-7. After Western punted, Kent went on an eight play, 81-yard drive, capped by a three-yard run by Rankin, knotting the score 14-14.
