Last Wednesday, the NCAA extended the recruiting dead period through May 31 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Previously, the dead period was through April 15 before the announcement last week.
The news does not come as a surprise as the nation takes part in social distancing practices to help slow down the spread of COVID-19.
But for college programs across the country, recruiting has become difficult when travel and in-person communication does not exist.
Western Michigan football would usually be taking time in the spring to host unofficial visits, make spring evaluations and travelling off-campus to visit recruits.
