WMU Drops Contest to Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's basketball team took on No. 23 Michigan on Wednesday in Ann Arbor, falling by a score of 67-99.

Redshirt sophomore Lauren Ross led the Broncos with 27 points, shooting 5-of-5 from the three-point range. Redshirt freshman Maggie Stutelberg totaled seven points, shooting 6-of-12 from the three-point range.

Michigan outscored the Broncos 23-16 in the first quarter, shooting 35.7 percent from the floor while holding the Broncos to 5-of-14 shooting inside the arc. Four of WMU's 16 points in the first frame came from free throws as they went 4-for-4 from the line.
