KALAMAZOO, MI - After a strong junior year, Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal positioned himself to be a leader in the Broncos' secondary this season.
It appears his 2018 season will be spent elsewhere, after the two-year starter filed to enter the NFL's 2018 supplemental draft, according to a Yahoo Sports report.
"He was a joy to coach," WMU coach Tim Lester told Yahoo Sports in a phone interview. "I wanted to coach him one more year. When it comes to talent and work ethic, he's one of the best I've ever been around.
