Western Michigan University Director of Athletics Dan Bartholomae announced Monday two gifts to renovate the women’s basketball locker room at University Arena. Started by donations from the Allkins family and Randy and Wendy Verlin, the $1.3M project aims to bring a championship culture to the program.
The current square footage will increase by about 50%, adding ample space for a fresh design. More locker room space, a team lounge and a nutrition station highlight future expansions.
Many new features are coming to the locker room: Customized lockers, new furniture, audio/video upgrades, digital signage, graphics, improved lighting and better finishes.
