KALAMAZOO, MI - Injuries kept Western Michigan running back Matt Falcon off the field his freshman year, and a loaded running back stable allowed the Broncos to bring the bruising running back along slowly this season.
Now with co-starter LeVante Bellamy out with an injury, it appears redshirt freshman's path to playing time is as clear as it has been since he signed with WMU as a Southfield High School senior.
Bellamy, the team's fastest player and the Bronco's big-play threat out of the backfield, averaged 7 yards per carry through six games before being carted off the field in Week 7 against Akron.
