Willis Nets 28 in Setback at Akron

AKRON, Ohio – Western Michigan junior guard tied his career high with 28 points in a 105-92 loss at Akron on Tuesday evening.

Willis' 28 points are the most scored by a WMU player this season. The Detroit native also collected seven rebounds, four assists and five steals. Joining Willis in double-figures for the Broncos (7-17, 4-7 MAC) were (15), (13), (12) and (11).

Akron (19-5, 11-0) tallied 11 of the contest's first 14 points to grab the early edge. Just past the midway point of the half, the hosts hit back-to-back three-pointers to push their lead into double-digits for the first time, 30-19.
