NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Sophomore point guard Thomas Wilder and junior forward Tucker Haymond combined for 39 points in an 86-61 loss at Vanderbilt Wednesday.
Wilder registered a game-high 21 points on 7 of 12 shooting. He also tallied five rebounds and three assists. Haymond finished with 18 points and five rebounds.
Vanderbilt did a good job locking down Western Michigan’s other offensive options. Senior Anthony Avery Jr. was WMU’s next highest scorer, contributing seven points. Junior sharp shooter Kellen McCormick was held to just one field goal attempt and was kept without a look from beyond the arc by the Commodore defense.
