CHARLESTON, Ill. -- The Western Michigan track and field team won five events at the Eastern Illinois University Twilight Meet on Friday night, in its final meet ahead of next weekend's Mid-American Conference Championship.
WMU claimed wins in the 200-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay, pole vault, and the triple jump. Leading the way was senior Kirstie Wieber after breaking her own program record in the outdoor pole vault. Wieber reached a height of 3.84m (12' 7.25") to break her previous mark of 3.82m (12' 6.25") set at the GVSU Last Chance Meet last May.
