The Western Ranger Organization, a registered student organization here at Western Michigan University who are also affiliated with the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program, prides itself on training the future leaders of the combat arms profession. The organization focuses on physical fitness and perfecting their craft of being future officers in the United States Army. The WRO mission is to, build confidence esprit de corps and team work through tough, realistic, and aggressive training; and to develop outstanding leaders in the United States military and in life.
To help maintain their physical fitness, each member of the organization must maintain a score of 270 points on the Army Physical Fitness Test, which consists of a two-mile run and two minutes of push-ups and sit-ups.
