The hottest team in college hockey was cooled off on Friday night. The No. 10 Western Michigan University hockey team was shutout 3-0 by No. 2 St. Cloud State University. This loss ends a marvelous 10-game unbeaten streak for the Broncos.
The game was scoreless after the first period as both teams exchanged chances but no one found the back of the net.
The second period was a different story as the Huskies took control of the game. Nick Poehling of St. Cloud State put the Huskies on the board just one minute into the second period.
