KALAMAZOO, MI — It wasn't the dominating performance Bronco fans have been used to this season but Western Michigan defeated Eastern Michigan to be the first team in school history to make it to an 8-0 season since the 1941 squad.
The Broncos (8-0, 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference) played the Eagles (5-3, 2-2 in the MAC) even in the first quarter 7-7 then opened up a slight lead on them to make it 24-17 at halftime.
Eastern showed talent up front when the offensive line stymied Western's normally dominant defensive line, allowing zero sacks in the first half.
