Western Michigan unable to contain IPFW's shooting in 89-86 OT loss

KALAMAZOO, MI – Western Michigan men's basketball coach Steve Hawkins said there was a breakdown in the scouting report entering Tuesday's game.

IPFW entered the game against WMU with 330 attempts from 3-point range and 125 makes, the 10th-highest total in the country. The Mastodons didn't waver much from their identity as they made 13 of 26 shots from 3-point land and beat WMU 89-86 in front of a crowd of 2,676 at University Arena.

The Mastodons didn't start out hot, making four of 12 attempts from deep in the first half, but they found their rhythm after halftime as they made nine of their final 14 three-pointers, including a game-winner by Max Landis with 11.
