KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In its first home game under new head coach Dwayne Stephens, the Western Michigan men's basketball team knocked off Kalamazoo College, 82-59, in exhibition action on Wednesday evening at University Arena.
The Broncos came out of the gates quickly, as they raced out to a 16-4 advantage in the opening six minutes of the contest. Kalamazoo College trimmed the deficit to 10, 20-10, but Western Michigan responded with a 17-0 run to boost its lead to 37-20. During the surge, WMU held the Hornets without a point for more than five minutes.
