Western Michigan Rally Comes Up Just Short in MAC Quarterfinals

CLEVELAND – Trailing by 18 at halftime, the No. 6 seeded Western Michigan men's basketball team fought all the way back to within two late in the second half, but ultimately fell to No. 3 seed Kent State, 73-66, in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament on Thursday night.

Western Michigan finishes the season with a 12-20 overall record, while Kent State improves to 22-10 and advances to face No. 2 seed Miami in Friday's second semifinal.

Owen Lobsinger paced the Broncos with 16 points off of the bench, while Donovan Williams and Chansey Willis Jr.
