MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Thomas Wilder scored 26 points, and Tucker Haymond added 20 with 15 rebounds as Western Michigan came from as many as 18 points down to defeat Central Michigan 91-82 in overtime in Friday night's regular-season finale.
Western Michigan (13-18, 7-11 Mid-American Conference) dominated the extra period, winning the tip, opening on a 9-1 run and scoring 26 points, which ties an NCAA record for most points in an overtime (Vermont, 1998).
Wilder, a sophomore, has been the leading scorer in conference games all season. He added 13 points on 15 tries from the foul line.
