Western Michigan men's basketball starts slow, falls against Akron

Western Michigan's men's basketball team is still looking for its first win in MAC play following the opening week of conference play.

The Broncos, coming off an overtime loss to Kent State, started slow on the road against Akron and they couldn't recover, falling to the Zips, 62-53. The loss drops WMU to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in MAC play.

Thomas Wilder shined, leading the Broncos with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting to go along with nine rebounds. He didn't get much help, as only one other WMU player scored in double figures.
